Steps

10,000 steps a day, about 5 miles has been recommended for health maintenance.  Some days I get this in with regular daily activities, some days I do not.  I commit to monitoring my steps for 2 weeks, calculating an average and then I will intentionally increase my steps by 10%  in the following 2 weeks.

For Jan 1-Jan 14 I tracked126,343 steps, 9025 steps a day, 3,857 steps below my 130,200 goal.
Plan for the next two weeks Jan 15-Jan 28: to include the 3,857 into my prior goal: to average 9,300 a day.
I'm aiming for averaging 9,576 a day and 134,057 in two weeks.
Good luck on your health promotion plans and commitments!

Dec 18-31st I'll aim for increasing my average steps from 8,500 to 9,000 steps per day for a total of 126,000 steps in the next 2 weeks.
I'll continue with the personal training this week (the gym is closed next week), I'll work on some of the exercises at home.
Happy Holidays to all.

Nov 20-Dec 3rd aimed for 119,000 steps got 109,855 in 9,154 short.
I did continue with a personal trainer twice a week both weeks.
For Dec 4-Dec 17th I'll aim for 119,00 steps again.
Staying mindful and monitoring!

I acheived 119,019 steps the weeks of Oct 23-November 5th.

During the following 2 weeks Nov 6-19th I started working with a personal trainer, I'm meeting twice a week for cardio (elliptical, bike, tredmill) and strengthening with floor exercises and weights. My step count was less during these two weeks down to 95,648 I got a bug at the begining of this period of time and I think that might have diminished the momentum.  In addition, I started something new with the personal training.  It is good to track this though as it keeps me mindful of what's hapening and moving in the right direction!

For these next two weeks (I'm half way in) I'll continue with the personal training and continue to track my steps and aim for the 119,000 mark again.

I monitored my daily steps for the next 2 weeks and I intentionally aimed for 8,300 steps a day (a 10% increase from my baseline).  I got the goal  in most days.  There were some days that I was over (I did a 5K with my husband one of the days and that increased my step count), some days that by the end of the day I was under and I made an effort to achieve the goal and a couple of days I did not make it.  It all averaged above goal, 8,493 a day average and a total of 118,907 steps.  My plan is to maintain this and increase my daily goal slightly to 8,500 steps a day for 119,000 steps in 2 weeks. I also am going to start with a personal trainer and will plan to implement a routine. I'll check in in the next 2 weeks to let you know how it goes. Best of luck with all of your commitments and challenges!
I monitored my daily steps for the last 2 weeks and here's what I came up with: 105,669 steps, that's a daily average of 7,548 steps, 10% of this is 754.8. For the next two weeks I'll aim for 8300 steps a day (making it a round number to remember) with an goal of 58,100 steps a week and116,200 steps in the next 14 days. I'll report back as to how it goes and set my next challenge. -Allison
P.S. I'm going to join the current challenge to help me to increase my step count, I'll be able to participate for the second half of the challenge!
