Hydration At Work?

Today is day 10 of the Hydration Challenge!

We understand that drinking water while at work can pose a challenge and hope that our blog, Stay Hydrated on the Job, can provide you with some tips.

We also encourage you to help set up a hydration station at your organization, if they are not already in place. Many organizations have started creating these stations so that nurses can drink up without carrying around a water bottle.

Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, a Champion of the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ provides “hydration carts” that visit nurses on the floor, giving them an opportunity to pick up a healthy snack or fruit-infused water. Discuss this issue with your nurse manager and advocate for making hydration a priority at your organization.

Congratulations! You got through the challenge, and though today’s the last day, we hope you will continue to stay mindful of how much water you are drinking and keep these new hydration practices going. Remember that thirst is NOT a reliable gauge of your body's need for water, so drink a glass even when you are not thirsty.

Let us know which tips have worked best for you and how much water you drink today (in ounces) compared to your day 1 in our challenge updates section hereprivate Facebook group, or on Twitter, or Instagram. Post your photos and tag us with #HealthyNurse.
