Welcome to Day 1 of the Healthy Holidays Challenge, powered by Compass One Healthcare!

Let’s start this challenge on a positive note by recognizing the progress you’ve made BEFORE we even begin. Everyone has healthy habits hidden within the hustle and bustle of the day-to-day. What are yours?

Now is not the time to start a juice cleanse or cut out your favorite, less-than-nutritious foods. Instead, work on sticking with the healthy habits you’ve already incorporated into your routine.

Today, take a moment to think about the healthy eating habits you already have. Maybe you:
  • Start your day with a full glass of water.
  • Avoid sugar- and calorie-laden drinks like sodas and juice.
  • Eat leafy greens every day.
  • Focus on small portion sizes.

These are great habits to keep in your toolbox for the upcoming 9 days of this challenge. We encourage you to write down the winning components of your lifestyle. Then give yourself the praise you deserve for making those healthy choices.

I drink only water no soda. If I have coffee I only limit it to 1 cup and usually it’s decaf. I rarely drink alcohol but when I do..Red wine is my go to and I limit to 1 glass. I’ve been trying to work on getting more fruits and vegetables into my diet..I don’t get enough fiber daily and I tend to skip meals when I’m busy at work so I’m trying not to do that as often either!
I drink a big glass of water first thing every morning and I'm working on getting up to 10,000 steps a day

I eat fruits and vegetables every day, cooked plainly.  I drink water daily instead of sugary drinks.  I limit my wine to one glass.  I avoid deserts.
