Take A Moment And Share Your Feelings
Published
Are you okay today? How do you feel right now? What are your emotions? Is anything bothering you? Make a list of your top ten worries. What can you do about them? Are they dependent upon someone else?
Share how you’re feeling with a trusted friend, colleague, family member, or religious leader. Research suggests that putting feelings into words may help limit negative emotions.
If your physical, mental, or emotional health make that list of concerns, consider contacting a health care provider immediately. It is not a weakness to admit we need help. It is a real strength. Too many of us have put off routine health care including medication checks, vaccinations, vision and dental exams, and the like.
Still looking for a safe space to talk? The Well-Being Initiative has partnered with the Happy App to give nurses free access via a toll-free number 833-327-0262. These are confidential calls that connect you with compassionate listeners. Talk openly about self-care and wellness, recovery and resilience—24/7. Call the Happy toll-free number any time.
Who’s your trusted go-to person? Share your experience with us in the discussion on our challenge update thread here, in our private Facebook group, or on Twitter, or Instagram. Tag us with #healthynurse!
