Reflect on Your Stress Recovery Strategies

Everyone experiences stress differently, and each person has unique strategies for restoring calm. Recognizing your individual stress response and knowing what helps you regain balance will help you build resilience (the ability to adapt and recover from challenges). And it just may help you soothe a coworker’s nerves, too.


When you understand how you personally react to stress and what coping mechanisms work best for you, you can navigate difficult situations more effectively. This helps you maintain your well-being and prevents burnout.

Think about a time when you were in a stressful situation. Consider:

  • What helpful things did someone do for you?
  • What resources did you access to support you through the situation?
  • What self-care techniques did you use to regain your sense of ease?
