Claim Your “Me” Time - Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation - Find Your Balance challenge - Day 6
Published
How much of your day is dedicated solely to yourself?
When we talk about “me” time, we’re focusing on moments and activities exclusively for your personal well-being and enjoyment. As a nurse, it might feel unnatural to spend time only benefiting yourself, but every person needs a little “me” time each day.
Having "me" time means engaging in activities that make you happy or bring you peace. It could be sinking into a good book, indulging in a favorite hobby, soaking in a hot bath, or simply taking a quiet walk. It could be during your commute, reclaiming that time with a refreshing beverage and favorite podcast. These activities act like a mental refresh button, helping you get back to work with more focus and energy.
As you claim your “me” time today, consider this advice:
Remember: By actively claiming and protecting your "me" time, you contribute to a healthier and more balanced life. Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s a form of self-compassion.
