As nurses, we serve on the front lines of health care and natural disasters, witnessing the impact of climate change every day. Air quality, water safety, food security, extreme weather, and chronic disease are all directly influenced by a warming planet.
More than just an environmental issue, climate change is a public health crisis that impacts our patients, our workplaces, and our own health and well-being. But here’s the empowering truth: Nurses have both the voice and the values to lead climate-conscious change — starting with us. When we care for ourselves and our environment, we also protect the people we serve.
Get ready to nurture yourself — and the planet — as we challenge you to make small, meaningful changes that have a big impact. This 10 day challenge, will guide you through simple eco-conscious actions that “green your routine.” These shifts in behavior can create a ripple effect that goes far beyond the bedside. Let’s go green!

Am excited for this challenge because as a healthcare worker, many healthcare facilities lack proper recycling bins or education on what can be recycled. Clinical waste and general waste often get mixed, which complicates recycling. My goal is to Work with my department sustainability team to implement better waste segregation.
