Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ - HNHN Celebrates 1st Pilot Celebration With Champion Partner MUSC Health
On October 9 at Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation and Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health celebrated the successful completion of the first ever Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation Simply to Go Nutrition Pilot, supported by Sodexo.
MUSC Health nurses have improved their nutritional health by tripling their daily consumption of fruits and vegetables as part of a 60-day nutritional pilot that began in June and concluded at the end of August. The post-pilot findings reveal that 17 percent of MUSC Health nurses now consume the five daily recommended servings of fruits and vegetables, and 72 percent now consume three or more servings. MUSC Health nurses and staff celebrated the conclusion of the successful nutrition pilot at a special event and tasting.
The event opened with Bonnie Clipper, DNP, RN, MA, MBA, CENP, FACHE, VP, Innovation, ANA Enterprise, presenting an award to Champion Partner MUSC Health CNO, Jerry Mansfield, Ph.D., RN, to honor MUSC Health for being the first US nutrition pilot site.

Sankar Srinivas, VP Marketing-Healthcare, Sodexo, and Julie Branham, VP Clinical Nutrition, Sodexo, acknowledged the frontline staff for their hard work and dedication in executing the pilot.
Julie Branham and Lois Gould, Program Manager, ANA Enterprise, recognized Andrea Coyle, MHA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Professional Excellence and Magnet Program Director, and Debbie Petitpain, MS, RDN, Sodexo Wellness Dietitian at MUSC Health, for their commitment and championing the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation Simply to Go Nutrition Pilot.
