Commitment to Physical Activity
Published
Being a nursing student has been very demanding. For most of nursing school, I was able to maintain my physical health, but the last semester has taken a toll on me, as it has been very stressful. As a nurse in healthcare, I will have long shifts that are physically demanding, making me feel too tired to work out on my off days. However, I want to take charge of my health and get back on track.

Title: My Commitment to Train and Run the Boston Marathon with 261 Fearless
As a nurse and educator, I believe that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. That’s why I’ve committed to an incredible challenge: training for and running the Boston Marathon in 2026 as part of Team 261 Fearless.
261 Fearless is a global nonprofit that empowers women through running, helping them build confidence, resilience, and community. Their mission resonates deeply with me—not only as a runner but as someone passionate about promoting physical activity and mental well-being.
Running has been my outlet during life’s toughest moments, and now it’s my way to inspire others to prioritize health and self-care. Training for Boston is more than a race—it’s a commitment to living the values we teach in nursing: strength, perseverance, and compassion.
Follow my journey as I balance marathon training with my role as an assistant professor and advocate for healthy lifestyles. Together, we can show that nurses are strong, fearless, and unstoppable!

@Bella Trevizo You've got this! I would recommend finding a few friends or classmates to join you in your commitment! Having a group to stay on track with can really help.
