Commitment to physical activity
Published
Over the past couple of years I have realized that my physical activity is not as consistent as it should be for someone my age. Taking the nursing survey really showed me how little I exercised this week and got me thinking about how little I had been exercising over the past 2 years. I took some time to reflect on why I had not been prioritizing both my nutritional and, mainly, my physical needs. The biggest barrier that impeded my ability to exercise consistently was school and time. I felt that if I was only going to be exercising one day, I might as well not go; however, this way of thinking is exactly why I had not been exercising at all. Upon further reflection, I realize that this was a closed-minded way of thinking and that even one day of exercise still counts as exercise. Some is better than none. I thought deeply about how I can implement exercise into my already busy schedule. For this assignment, I will choose to commit to at least one day per week of strength training.
