Baby steps add up!

Welcome to day 3 of the Back to Basics challenge, powered by support from Humana.
Some people get intimidated by the idea of working out. They think it involves wearing exercise clothes and sweating for a solid 30 minutes. If you’re in that camp, we have great news for you: Every movement you make is a step in the right direction! In fact, studies suggest that short bouts of activity add up.
So, today, find small ways to incorporate more movement and fitness into your daily routine.
Try these:
- Do lunges while you dry your hair or brush your teeth
- Take the stairs instead of an escalator or elevator
- Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to walk or stretch every hour
- Park further away from your destination to get in more steps
- All those steps and activity involved in mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning the house count too!
Tell us about the small bursts of activity you did today in here or reply to us on Twitter, in our private Facebook group or Instagram. Remember to tag us with #healthynurse!
