Welcome to day 6 of the Mindful Movement challenge, powered by Humana!

Remember when you were a child, before adult responsibilities added extra stressors to your day? For many people, times were simpler when they were younger. Not to mention you got so much physical activity from running, jumping, climbing, and playing.

Today, we challenge you to do something that makes you feel like a kid again. Whether it’s swinging on a swing, going down a slide, playing a backyard game like kickball, or even going rollerblading — let the activity take you back to a simpler time. Use it as an opportunity to get moving, have fun, and forget about the stressors of being an adult (at least for a little while).

Here are a few more ideas to feel like a kid again:
  • Run through a sprinkler on your next jog
  • Play hide-and-seek with your kids
  • Grab a ball and glove and play catch outside
  • Play a dance video game
  • Get creative outside with sidewalk chalk and hopscotch

Going back to a time when you had fewer worries can lift some of today’s weight from your shoulders, even just temporarily. It can also ignite a fresh perspective, making you calmer, more patient, and happier.
