Make Space And Give Yourself Some Grace
Today is day 1 of our #healthynurse Busting Burnout challenge. Thank you for joining us!
You give and give almost every second of the day. But how often do you focus on yourself?
When you constantly pour from your cup without filling it back up, you’re going to get drained. But do you feel guilty when you do something for you? Do you beat yourself up during moments of me-time because you could be doing something for others?
Let’s start the Busting Burnout Challenge strong with a fresh dose of grace and self-compassion. When we show ourselves compassion, research shows we’re more likely to feel more joyful and resilient — and a lot less anxious and agitated. This type of deliberate slowing down can help lower your heart rate, lessen stress-related inflammation, and enhance your sleep.
Today, let go of ideas, feelings, and things that drain you or keep you from filling your cup. This will make room for clarity, rest, and healing. Try not to take your burdens with you throughout the rest of this challenge. Let them go. Follow the steps Alex Elle offers as a meditation during the Happiness Break Podcast for the Greater Good Science Center.
Show yourself some kindness today. By letting go of what burdens you, you create more space for your own well-being.
