Forgive a Peer or Loved One

Forgiveness is the intentional act of releasing resentment and anger toward someone who hurt you. Letting go of pain may be hard, but holding onto it can cause lasting bitterness and lessen your ability to experience joy.

Releasing your anger improves your mental and emotional well-being and brings you peace of mind.

Your Action for Today

Reflect on a grudge you’re carrying. Write or say the words, “I choose peace over resentment today.”

While forgiving someone who hurt you doesn’t excuse their behavior, it does free you from dwelling on it so you can move forward.
