Take a Moment for Self (and Group) Reflection — Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation™ Resolve Workplace Conflict With Confidence Challenge — Day 10
Day 10 — Reflect and Regroup
Self-reflection after a conflict can help you learn from the experience. Noting your own role in the situation — including what went well and what needs improvement — can enhance communications skills and emotional intelligence. Ultimately, it can make you a better nurse and teammate.
Your Action for Today
Reflect and journal about a recent conflict. What worked? What would you do differently next time? Use what you learn to create a personal “conflict toolkit” with notes, mantras, and strategies to help you during a future conflict.
Bonus Action: Encourage team reflection, where everyone has an opportunity to express their feelings without fear of judgment. A “We’re in this together” approach helps prevent feelings of isolation and resentment.
We hope you enjoyed strengthening your conflict resolution skills during this challenge and feel ready to flex your de-escalation muscles the next time a conflict arises.
