Day 1 — Reframing Rest

Change begins with belief. In nursing culture, exhaustion is often normalized. Pushing through fatigue may be interpreted as dedication, resilience, or commitment to patient care. Over time, this mindset can reinforce the idea that rest is something to earn rather than something the body requires.

When rest is consistently postponed, physical and emotional reserves slowly erode. Reframing how we think about rest is often the first step toward protecting it.

Your Action for Today

Reflect quietly on your beliefs about rest. Consider:

  • Do you associate fatigue with commitment?

  • Do you feel guilty when you slow down?

  • What message did you learn about “powering through”?

Write one sentence that reframes rest as protective rather than indulgent.

You don’t need to change anything today. Simply noticing your beliefs about rest can begin shifting the way you approach recovery. This belief shift creates space not only for rest, but for intentional renewal.

Join us on day 2: A sneak peek - Explore how sleep supports long-term health and resilience.
