The following are the Terms of Service for the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Grand Challenge Community. Use of this community indicates you accept these terms.


PURPOSE

The Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Grand Challenge Community is designed to serve as a resource to nurses and organizational partners. The community helps us and other members answer questions, share ideas, connect with one another, and benefit from the collective experiences of the community.

Our community is nothing without you, and we thank you for your participation.
 

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

Just get started. You can register and participate in the features of the community. The more you share, the better it is for everyone. Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, the posting party grants American Nurses Association and users of this site the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other material.

Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.

American Nurses Association does not actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of the American Nurses Association we will take all appropriate action. American Nurses Association reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.

COPYRIGHT COMPLAINTS

Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community respects the intellectual property rights of others. It is our policy to respond promptly any claim that content posted on the site infringes the copyright or other intellectual property infringement (“Infringement”) of any person. Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community will use reasonable efforts to investigate notices of alleged Infringement and will take appropriate action under applicable intellectual property law and these Terms of Service where it believes an Infringement has taken place, including removing or disabling access to the content claimed to be infringing and/or terminating accounts and access to the site.

To notify Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community of a possible Infringement you must submit your notice in writing to the attention of “Copyright Infringement” care of HCO@ana.org and include in your notice a detailed description of the alleged Infringement sufficient to enable Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community to make a reasonable determination. Please note that you may be held accountable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) for misrepresenting that any Content is infringing your copyright.

If we remove or disable access to content in response to a notice of Infringement, we will make reasonable attempts to contact the user who posted the affected content. If you feel that your content is not infringing, you may provide Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community with a counter notice in writing to the attention of “Copyright Infringement Counter Notification” at HCO@ana.org. You must include in your counter notice sufficient information to enable Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community to make a reasonable determination. Please note that you may be held accountable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you materially misrepresent that your content is not infringing the copyrights of others.

If you are uncertain whether an activity constitutes Infringement, we recommended seeking advice of an attorney.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act - Notification of Alleged Copyright Infringement

Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community has registered an agent with the United States Copyright Office, through the American Nurses Association, in accordance with the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the “Act”) and avails itself of the protections under the Act. Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community reserves the right to remove any visual content or communications that allegedly infringes another person’s copyright. Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who are repeat infringers of another person’s copyright. Notices to Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community regarding any alleged copyright infringement should be directed to Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community via email at: HCO@ana.org.

Filing a DMCA Notice to Remove Copyright-Protected Content

If you believe in good faith that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide us with a written notice containing the following information:

Your name, address, telephone number, and email address (if any);

A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed;

A description of where on the Website the material that you claim is infringing may be found, sufficient for Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community to locate the material (e.g., the URL);

A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted work is not authorized by the copyright Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community , its agent, or the law and is not a fair use;

A statement by you UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf; and

Your electronic or physical signature.

Filing a DMCA Counter-Notice to Restore Content Removed from the Website

If you believe that your material has been removed by mistake or misidentification, please provide Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community with a written counter-notification containing the following information:

Your name, address, telephone number, and email address (if any);

A description of the material that was removed and the location on the Website (e.g., the URL) where it previously appeared;

A statement UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification;

A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if your address is outside of the United States, any judicial district in which Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Community may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice or an agent of that person; and

Your electronic or physical signature.

What are the Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ Grand Challenge guidelines?

  • Be positive and appropriate. Discussions and comments are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention. Let others have their say, just as you may.
  • Don't post commercial messages on any part of the community. Contact people directly with product and service information if you believe it would help them.
  • Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the lists and in the libraries is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Please note carefully all items listed in the terms of service, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted.
  • Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate place in the community. Do not spam several lists or libraries with the same message.
  • All messages must add to the body of knowledge. We reserve the right to reject or remove any message.
  • Share, share, share. We will do our best to provide valuable content. However, each of you has great expertise in different areas. The more you provide the more valuable a resource this community becomes.

This community is made up of professionals so we don't expect many issues. However, if you recognize any violation of these guidelines, please notify us within the community by choosing "Objectionable" and let us know why you feel the content is inappropriate.
