Get fresh!

Welcome to day 4 of the 5 for 10 Fruit and Veggie challenge.
As we talked about yesterday, pre-cut and frozen fruits or vegetables are great for you. But let’s be honest, a bag of frozen cauliflower florets doesn’t have the same appeal as a ripe, juicy peach from a farm stand or a tomato straight off the vine.
Visit a farmer’s market or sign up for a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share. Belonging to a CSA gives you access to high quality, fresh produce grown by a local farmer. Have a green thumb? Go to a nursery and buy a vegetable plant you can put in your yard or plant in a container in a sunny window or balcony. Believe it or not, fresh fruits and vegetables can taste so good that you’ll start to crave them!
