Celebrate the Small Wins: Recognizing Progress Builds Habits That Last🏆 — Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation® Snap & Steps: Move, Capture, Inspire Challenge, sponsored by Humana — Day 8
Pausing to recognize progress helps nurses, nursing students, and healthcare clinicians stay motivated.
Day 8 — Celebrate the Small Wins
After a week of setting intentions, taking steps, and capturing snaps, it’s time to celebrate your progress thus far. Every day moves you closer to your goal of better health! Even if you feel like a week of healthy actions is a “small win,” it’s the small wins that lead to big improvements — and habits that stick.
Celebrating a small win is like feeding your inner fire. It keeps you motivated to continue, even when the going gets tough.
Your Action for Your Next Walk
Snap a photo in the same place you did on day 3. Place the photos next to each other and give yourself a pat on the back for how far you’ve come in a short time. Take note in your journal of:
- How many days in a row you’ve walked
- How many steps or miles you’ve traveled
- Any challenges you’ve overcome
- How you felt on day 3 vs. how you feel today
Bonus Action: Share your photo — and celebration — with someone in your support network. Let them celebrate you as well!
Join us on day 9: A sneak peek - Rest and reset.
