Three Ways to Spread Kindness at Work - Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation - Sustain Humanity with Kindness Challenge - Day 4

Spread Kindness at Work
Nurses face intense emotional and physical demands at work. When they feel supported and respected, both morale and patient experience improve. A supportive team can be a grounding force. It creates a workplace where care flows not just to patients, but also among colleagues.
Your Action for Today
Consider ways to turn your unit into a hub of human connection with an act of workplace kindness. Try one of these ideas:
- Note of gratitude: Leave a sticky note on a desk or workstation telling your colleague how much you appreciate them, their work, or something they did.
- Offer help without being asked: If you notice someone in your unit struggling with their workload, give them a helping hand.
- Treat someone: Spring for a cup of coffee or surprise your team member with a snack and a thank-you or word of encouragement.
You don’t need big or elaborate gestures to create a positive environment. Consistent, everyday acts of kindness are what matter.
