Water is involved in almost every physiological function in the body. It’s a critical component of a healthy diet.

As busy nurses who barely have time for bathroom breaks, it’s hard to willingly chug that bottle of water. But drinking enough water is one of the best things you can do for your mind, immune system, skin, and overall wellness. So, at least for today (and hopefully moving forward), make an extra effort to drink more water.

How much extra water you drink is up to you. Here are a few tips and tricks that might help:
  • Immediately drink a large glass of water when you wake up for the day.
  • Drink a glass of water before every meal.
  • Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink. Sip on water throughout the day.
  • Add flavor to your water by infusing it with fresh fruit.
  • Try a hydrating smoothie.
