Eating healthier portions spaced out during the day and drinking more water

I am attempting to eat more veggies, fruits, and lean meats while avoiding white breads, starches and sugars. My plan is to eat a small, healthy food option every 3-4 hours throughout the day to avoid overeating. Drinking water has always been an issue for me, I am making my own flavored waters with fruit, mint, rosemary, and veggies in addition to drinking HINT water. I feel like I constantly have to actively remind myself to drink water because I am so busy and do not feel thirsty until I am very dehydrated.
