Finding more Balance
Published
This year I would like to find balance between work and home. I commute for roughly two and a half hours for work 5 days a week and am also trying to do more on my farm and be present for my family. I also am finishing my BSN this year. My goal is to organize my time better so I can get the right amount of sleep so that I can tackle my commitments without feeling drained and defeated by my schedule. I plan on breaking up tasks, setting obtainable goals over my days off, and allowing myself a few hours of time each week to pick an activity that is purely for pleasure like riding my horses.

@Demonmutt74 I don't know if you already do this, but really try to make your commute time your own. When I had a long commute, I ended up loving that time for myself. I would get books on tape for the car (listened to all of Game of Thrones hah), made a bunch of different playlists for different moods/styles of music, or figured out which friends/family would be available to chat with during those times. Making my commute “me-time” helped me feel a little less stressed during the rest of the day.
