Be mindful of green eating habits - Eat Clean, Go Green challenge, powered by Compass One Healthcare - Day 10 Tip
Published
The best thing you can do to eat for a greener planet is to be mindful of how your eating habits impact it. Awareness and education are step one. Putting that awareness into action is step two.
Only 1 in 10 adults eat enough fruits and vegetables, the CDC says. But research shows that 39% of people are actively trying to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diet. That’s great! After 10 days of this challenge, we hope you fall into the latter category.
Now you’ve got some tools in your back pocket to help you. Keep going:
- Purchase your next organic produce locally
- Always choose organic for certain fruits like strawberries, grapes, and apples
- Look at your food labels. Choose meat, seafood, chocolate, and dairy items that are responsibly grown or harvested
- Plant a few herbs, fruits, and/or vegetables in pots around your house
- Use more uncommon parts of plants, like beet greens or pumpkin leaves, in your meals
Now that you’ve completed this challenge, you’re on your way to nutrition that makes our planet a better place to live. We’re so proud of you!
