Choose A Quiet Place To Meditate

Welcome to day 1 of the Meditate & Recalibrate challenge, powered by support from Compass One Healthcare.

As we get started in the challenge we want you to take some tonight to consider the right place to practice your meditations. Finding the right space will help you stick with your meditation practice. Here are somethings to consider:

The best place to meditate is where you feel most comfortable. Think about where you can go that is:
  • Peaceful
  • Private
  • Relaxed
  • Safe
  • Uninterrupted
Make sure your location is distraction-free, whether physical, mental, or emotional. Is your child or coworker going to burst through the door at any moment? If so, you may have a hard time settling down and keeping your mind clear. If the chair you’re sitting in gives you a kink in your back, you may dwell on that during your meditation. Wherever you choose to meditate, the goal is to quiet your mind to reduce anxiety, stress, and intrusive thoughts (we’ll have more on that topic tomorrow).

I have just place ! Light and peaceful!

I have meditated off and on for many years, but have periods where I drift away. I am trying to have this challenge kick off a new resurgence for me. I mentally know the benefits of meditation and its positive effects on me, but it is so hard to start and create the want for it.

Good morning, Trusting everyone is off to a good start! I am practicing my meditation in my bedroom. I usually get my best sleep when I meditate first!
