Book a peaceful moment with yourself
Welcome to day 3 of the Strengthen Your Immunity, powered by Compass One challenge!
If you are chronically stressed and anxious, do you find yourself getting sick more often? Stress weakens the immune system. There’s an undeniable connection between mental health and immune health.
When your mind is at peace, your body will be, too. Make sure to take care of yourself every chance you get. Your immune system depends on it. Remember that keeping your mental health in a good place will also help to keep your physical health in a good place.
Each day incorporate a conscientious moment of rest. That means you’re not doing anything physically and you’re keeping your thoughts to a minimum. What works to bring you calmness might be different than what works for someone else. But here are a few ideas to consider:
-
Try meditation: Focus on one thought or mantra, or focus on your breathing and just “be”
-
Use the 4-7-8 breathing technique: Follow these steps
-
Listen to a podcast: Choose a topic and speaker that bring you peace
-
Listen to your favorite music: Create a playlist or station that calms you down
-
Take a real lunch break: Don’t think about work. Don’t chart your notes while eating. Get away, eat, and do nothing else.
The way you deal with and manage stress is crucial. Take time to create moments of calm in your day. This will help you de-stress, which will in turn help your immune system.
