Incorporate Mini Exercises Into Your Workday

Your breaks are valuable to you, so it’s important to use them wisely. Instead of scrolling through social media or eating a candy bar, spend one to two minutes doing one of these exercises:
  • Standing push-ups at a desk or nurse’s station
  • Calf raises
  • Jogging in place
  • Lunges or squats
  • Standing stretches

Yes, it’s important to stay active and get your steps in each day. But it’s also important to work other areas of your body, like your arms, shoulders, and back. You can do each one of the above exercises however long you want — it’s up to you to make the most of this valuable time.

Especially if you’re having a challenging day of work, a short exercise is the perfect tension-reliever. But if you can’t incorporate this into your busy shift, try doing exercises during television commercial breaks at home.
