Start A Jumping Jack Challenge

Want to quickly get some extra steps in? Set an alarm on your phone or watch for the top of the hour (each hour) and when it goes off, do jumping jacks for 30 seconds. This heart-pumping exercise works your glutes, adductors, and calves — and it’s easy to do almost anywhere.

Follow these steps to ensure proper form and avoid injury:
  1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart, with your arms at your sides.
  2. As you raise your arms out to the sides and over your head, jump your feet out so they're slightly more than shoulder-width apart.
  3. Without pausing, reverse the movement.
  4. Repeat.

If you need an option that’s more low impact, modify by taking the “jump” out. Replace the jumps with quick steps in and out.

To make this even more fun, get your colleagues involved. When the timer goes off, have those around you join in a quick, 30-second jumping jack session. It’ll give you a burst of energy, help you burn some calories, and maybe even spark a few laughs.
