Welcome to day 1 of our Hydration Challenge.

Habits form on average anywhere from 18 to 254 days after starting. Throughout this challenge and beyond, keep starting your day with water. Over time, this healthy routine will become automatic, and you’ll find it easier to get the recommended amount of fluid intake each day.

The key to getting enough fluids throughout the day is waking up to a big glass of water. Tonight fill that reusable water bottle or tumbler to the brim so it's ready to go right after you get out of bed in the morning.

Consider purchasing a big water bottle that holds your daily recommended fluid amount (15.5 cups/124 ounces for men and 11.5 cups/92 ounces for women). If you start drinking it early in the day, you can aim to finish it all by the time you go to bed.

You may also start to feel the benefits of proper hydration, including:
  • Better physical performance when exercising
  • More energy
  • Improved brain function and less fogginess
  • Fewer headaches
  • Better digestion
