Try To Get Fresh Air Every Day

Published
You know that feeling you get when you step outside and take a deep breath of fresh air? It’s almost like a weight is lifted from your chest and you can finally breathe.

Research shows that people often feel positive emotions like connectedness and hope when they’re outside. And when you’re in the throes of burnout, you need to generate as many positive emotions as possible.

If you’re able to, follow these steps:
  1. Walk away from whatever is making you anxious
  2. Get outside for some fresh air
  3. Take a minute to do some breathing exercises, listen to the sounds of nature, or simply be present
  4. When you go back to whatever you had been doing, envision yourself walking away from your burdens and pressures, leaving them outside
  5. Repeat this practice whenever you feel the need

Starting today, make going outside for a breath of fresh air a non-negotiable in your daily routine.
