Put Fruit And Veggies Front And Center This Summer!
Welcome to day 6 of the 5 for 10 Fruit and Veggie challenge.
Try these tips to make fruits or vegetables the star ingredient of your meals:
- Use a spiralizer to turn fresh veggies like zucchini, beets, and carrots into noodle-like strands that you can use in place of pasta.
- Put peaches, plums, nectarines, or pineapple on the grill over low heat. The sugar in the fruit will caramelize, giving it a sweet, smoky flavor.
- Peel a few bananas and put them in the freezer for a few hours. Puree in a blender to make “banana ice cream” and then add any toppings you’d like.
