Abandon Autopilot
Published
Welcome to the Mindfulness Challenge!
Do you ever find yourself driving home from work and afterward barely remembering the trip? Or not realizing that you already charted for a patient? When that happens, it’s because you’re going through the motions without actively thinking about them.
It’s unrealistic to be fully aware of every action we take at all times (a little bit of mindlessness is bound to happen sometimes). But when you notice yourself slipping into that autopilot mode, actively try to bring the attention back to what you’re doing. Take note of your breath and bring yourself back to now. Notice the sights, sounds, smells, colors, and textures around you and take them in.
Let us know how you are feeling on day 1 of our challenge in the updates section here, our private Facebook group, or on Twitter, or Instagram.
