Move More Throughout The Day 4136

Move More Throughout The Day

Published
It is day 8 of the Meditate, Activate, Rejuvenate Challenge, powered by Humana.

Movement is more than just being on your feet. It’s about working all areas of your body (arms, shoulders, abdomen, legs) and getting your heart pumping. Today, your challenge is to move more. This doesn’t have to be the addition of a long workout or something that requires a lot of time. It’s about being more mindful when you move, so you work more muscles throughout your body.

Here are a few ideas to consider:
  • Take the stairs instead to the elevator and try to walk briskly.
  • Spend a few moments stretching.
  • Try a standing or walking meeting.
  • Do standing push-ups or calf raises while waiting for your food to cook in the microwave.
  • Hold a plank or do squats while watching television
  • Park farther from the entrance to work or the grocery store.

Experts say any amount of exercise benefits health, no matter the length. What matters is that you’re moving, which can help refresh and invigorate you. And adding small movements into your routine can become a healthy habit over time.
