Window Shop + Walk

Published
Ever tried mall walking? Since the weather isn’t always conducive to outdoor exercise in the winter, it’s a great time to find an indoor mall and walk a few laps.

Mall walking is a beloved activity by thousands of people of all ages, and for good reason. This activity is:
  • Versatile: You can choose to walk alone, with a loved one, or with a group.
  • Practical: You can make your own schedule and go for a stroll whenever the mall is open.
  • Safe: Most malls have security staff nearby.
  • Inexpensive: Unless you choose to make a purchase in a store, it doesn’t cost a dime to walk around the mall.
  • Accessible: Many malls have bus stations nearby or on the property.
  • Convenient: You’ll have access to restrooms, water fountains, food, chairs or other resting areas, and level floors.

Consider putting on your workout clothes and walking shoes, grab a bottle of water, and head to an indoor mall near you. Spend at least 30 minutes walking brisk laps around the interior. See how many laps you can do in that time. Use an app on your smartphone or smartwatch to track your distance and calories. Good luck!
