Engage Your Senses At Dinner Tonight - Mindful Meals challenge, powered by Compass One Healthcare - Day 7 Tip
Published
Have you ever gotten through a meal without tasting your food? Or did you gobble down your salad so fast, you never noticed the different textures?
Tonight's challenge is to slow down while you eat so you can experience the food with all your senses:
Smell the food as it’s cooking or warming filling the room with aromas. Notice how the food looks on your plate. Let your tastebuds relish in the different flavors. Chew slowly so you feel the texture of the food against your tongue and mouth. Listen to the sound of the food against your teeth.
As you eat, pause once in a while to engage your senses. Think of today’s exercise as a way to slow down, cherish the food you have, and learn to appreciate and savor its deliciousness.
