Who knew choosing a water bottle was such a major decision? If your goal is to make hydration a priority, your water bottle will become your best friend. Make sure it’s one you like!
Whether you already have the perfect water bottle in your cupboard or you’re on the hunt for one to purchase, consider these factors:
- Ditch disposable water bottles: Americans purchase one million plastic bottles per minute, and 91% of them become trash. Help improve the environment by using a reusable water bottle.
- Choose something durable: Do you have a habit of breaking things easily? Beware of single-walled plastic, metal, and fragile glass bottles. And if you don’t want to hand-wash it all the time, choose one that’s dishwasher safe.
- Maintain the right temperature: Do you want the liquids in your water bottle to stay at a certain temperature? A stainless-steel, insulated water bottle is the best option.
- Pick something appealing: Do you want a water bottle with an attractive design or cool color? You may want to avoid plastic bottles, whose designs tend to fade over time.
- Make sure it’s easy to use: If portability is important to you, choose a water bottle that has a big handle and smooth mouth and lid sections.
- Size matters: If you don’t want to refill the water bottle often, go with a bigger size, like a 32 oz. bottle. For comparison, the average plastic water bottle holds 16 oz.
These are a few factors to consider when choosing your perfect water bottle but add your own if you think of more. Don’t take this decision lightly. This water bottle will be your constant companion over the next 9 days (and beyond), so make it a good one.
