What Are Your Intentions?

Today is day 1 of the Renew Challenge.

To begin this challenge, first let’s set your intentions. Everything that happens begins with intention. How are you doing with your fitness this year? Are you moving more?  Trying new activities? Are you feeling stuck and need motivation to keep going? Or do you need to forgive yourself for dropping the ball? Let us know in our discussion or on Facebook.

Remember: you’ve got to nourish to flourish. That New Year’s Resolution you kicked to the curb last month? Forgive yourself, then try again. That decision not to exercise yesterday? Forget about it and set your intention to do one small thing that will increase your activity today.  Don’t dwell on what you can’t change, simply strive to do better tomorrow.

Take a moment to breathe. Inhale for the future, exhale for the past. Let go of what you can’t change. You’re going to crush this challenge!

Find this helpful? Share it with a nurse and invite them to join the Renew challenge, powered by support from Humana. Join us on day 2.

I have been dealing with breast cancer for most of this year.  I have struggled to keep my A1C at 7.  I need/have to maintain/decease in order to complete the treatments safely.  I will forget yesterday and move forward.  One day/hour at at time.
I will forgive myself for not going to the gym today and commit to going the next three days for Arthritis Relief water exercises after gentle yoga, balance and flex, and Pilates to see where I am at.

"Everything that happens begins with intention." So true. I have purposed to be more forgiving of myself, mindful to take time for myself, stress less and be grateful for each moment. I truly believe it really is mind over matter. When we get the mind right - the body will surely follow.

I'll be starting back up in the gym today, and incorporating yoga into my routine at least twice a week. I'll also be making an effort to choose more activities on my free time that require me to be active.

I am literally starting all over again; my intentions for January melted into February and are gone!   Starting today with baby steps - walking and trying to eat more healthy - one day at a time.  Better rest is a goal this week - no "overscheduling".
