Consider Swimming Some Laps

Published
Did you know that swimming is dubbed one of the most heart-healthy exercises?

Swimming laps is a low impact aerobic activity, meaning it gets your heart beating faster without putting lots of pressure on your bones and joints. Several studies have found a correlation between how much adults swim and the health of their hearts. Swimming not only works the heart muscle, but it lowers blood pressure and improves circulation.

Many people rave about swimming because not only is it a healthy physical activity; it’s also calming and relaxing.

Today’s challenge is to find a place to swim (indoor or outdoor pool, pond, lake, reservoir) and do some laps. Spend at least 30 minutes in the water focusing on aerobic activity. Think of this gentle yet effective exercise as a new way to move your body for the benefit of your heart.
